The 21 temporary stores, selling merchandise based off Kanye West's seventh studio album, are located globally and were disclosed by the rapper and designer in a tweet.

AND THE FRENZY BEGINS: “The Life of Pablo” is taking on a life of its own with 21 stores set to open this weekend globally.

Musician and designer Kanye West slowly dipped his toe into temporary retail with merchandise for the seventh studio album in March on Wooster Street in New York and then a West Coast iteration in May on Fairfax Avenue. Both retail stints drew loyal fans, some of whom camped outside the stores the evening before the opening, and lines that snaked down blocks and around buildings.

The first group of shoppers allowed into the L.A. store quickly scooped up merchandise, including one fan who said he bought two of every item sold that day for himself and his girlfriend. Another customer spent $1,500 on a vintage Levi’s denim jacket that retailed for $400 and multiple shirts from the line. Prices in New York were similar with jackets ranging from $150 to $400, $95 hoodies and $45 to $65 for T-shirts.

West is doing it again and, per usual, disclosed the news on Twitter, posting a map of where the stores around the world will open over the weekend.

This weekend’s event is sure to generate a similar frenzy, although the exact locations of those stores and when that information is to be released is still unknown.

West disclosed after the New York store’s three-day run that the shop pulled in a cool $1 million selling items inspired from the album. It’s unclear how the Los Angeles store fared that followed performed in comparison.
